Stavris named new Mohave County Public Defender

Christopher Stavris

An attorney who owns a Scottsdale law firm has been selected to serve as Mohave County Public Defender. County manager Mike Hendrix said Christopher Stavris has accepted the county’s employment offer.

Stavris’ hiring is subject to approval by the Board of Supervisors. Confirmation would see Stavris begin his new job on August 12, at an annual salary of about $120,000.

Stavris would succeed interim PDO Richard Weiss. The retired Judge has been holding down the fort since former Public Defender Alex Bolobonoff retired earlier this year.
