KINGMAN – Over the next few months, the City of Kingman has consulted with DBi services to complete a traffic sign inventory. This will use a specialized vehicle that will drive up and down each street using LIDAR detection to capture all traffic signs.
Additional crews will stop at each traffic sign individually and place a etroreflectometer to each sign for a reading. This is being done on an HSIP grant fully funded and administered by ADOT.
This is to help the city meet the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) requirement standards that are designed to maintain sign retroreflectivity at or above the minimum levels. The MUTCD is a document issued by the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) of the United States Department of Transportation (USDOT) to specify the standards by which traffic signs, road surface markings, and signals are designed, installed, and used.
