Shambaugh & Sons bringing 60 new jobs to county

MOHAVE COUNTY – A sprinkler pipe fabrication company is setting up shop on the Nucor Steel campus along Route 66 just outside Kingman. Mohave County announced Shambaugh & Sons will first operate from an existing vacant building.

Economic Development Director Tami Ursenbach said Shambaugh will subsequently utilize an 84,000 sq. ft. facility that is under construction on Nucor-owned property. Dozens of jobs will result.

“It’s wonderful that 60 new jobs will become available,” Ursenbach said. “We’re so pleased that Shambaugh & Sons saw our many available resources and then saw fit to join us for a shared profitable and enjoyable future.”

Shambaugh executive Rob Vincent said the Progressive Pipe Fabricators Division of the company will fabricate and deliver about 20,000 pipes each week once operations commence in the new facility this fall. “By expanding our fabrication capabilities throughout the United States, our new shop will now serve a much larger geographic area,” Vincent said in a county issued news release. “While we’re expanding our reach, we’re simultaneously bolstering our sustainability efforts by reducing fuel consumption and improving speed to market.”

Governor Doug Ducey said he is happy to welcome Shambaugh to Arizona.

“No state in the country provides a better environment for companies like Shambaugh to grow and thrive,” Ducey said. “My thanks to the Arizona Commerce Authority and our partners in Mohave County for their work on this project.”
