KINGMAN, Ariz. – Defense attorney Greg McPhillips’ assertion that his client was not intending to import or sell illegal drugs apparently resonated with a Mohave County Superior Court trial jury. The panel returned two key not guilty verdicts in the case against Holly Haworth, 46, Fort Mohave, following Sept. 2 deliberations at the Mohave County Law and Justice Center in Kingman.
Haworth faced prison time were she not acquitted of transportation of dangerous drugs for sale and possession of dangerous drugs for sale charges. Much lighter punishment is likely for the jury conviction for possession of drug paraphernalia.
At the start of trial, McPhillips urged the jury to consider that Haworth was merely present when she and two co-defendants were arrested when Bullhead City police seized 3.5 pounds of methamphetamine. Officers investigating drug sales activity stopped two vehicles traveling in tandem on Oct. 30, 2025.
It was believed occupants of the BMW and Chevrolet Silverado were returning to Bullhead City after picking up drugs in Las Vegas.
April Jacobs, 38, Dolan Springs, and Dara Tristan, 47, Fort Mohave, were arrested along with Haworth. Tristan was placed on probation while Jacobs is serving a 2.5-year prison term for their roles in the case.
Haworth will be sentenced on Sept. 28.
