Santa Claus will appear at 2 Havasu holiday events this weekend

LAKE HAVASU CITY — Lake Havasu will be getting a dose of even more holiday magic with two very special visits from Santa Claus this weekend. For the past two years, the Havasu Riviera Marina’s Holiday Glow show has quickly become a favorite amongst locals.  The Marina has partnered up with the Annual Parade of Lights for the use of their boat slips to showcase the enchanting night.

This year’s event will have letters to Santa Clause, bounce houses, and with the help of Home Depot, the store will be helping out with arts and crafts portion of the occasion for the children.  Free hot chocolate will also be provided by The Coffee Bean.

Parents and children should stay on the lookout for Santa, as he will be paying a visit to gather those wishful letters. A $20 donation per car is required to attend or a $20 worth of canned goods or gift cards.

All of which will be donated to our local food banks.

Additional holidays charms to be experienced can be discovered at the Mistletoe and Magic Market. Launched by Whip it Up Bakery owner Jaqualyn Leisz and her mother Erin, they decided to begin hosting monthly shopping events that began past June.

Featuring small businesses like Amigos Birria Tacos and Bling, over 25 vendors will be present at the Christmas event. Shoppers will have a chance to explore essential oils, home goods, crochet items, food trucks, and much more.  Admission is free and a time to have a look at some of the local businesses. Since Santa will be stopping by at this event as well, be sure to say hello and share your holiday requests.

The Holiday Glow Show will be on Friday December 12 from 5pm to 9pm at the Havasu Riviera Marina at 2067 Havasu Riviera Parkway.  The following day, Mistletoe and Magic is scheduled to occur on Saturday December 13th from 9am to 6pm at London Bridge Beach Park at 1340 McCulloch Blvd N.

For Event Coordinator Maria Schmeling of the Havasu Riviera Marina who has been organizing the Holiday Glow shows for the past two years, it’s all about seeing the attractiveness of the decorative boats on the lake, but the display means a little more to Schmeling than just viewing the breathtaking scenery.

“I enjoy seeing how gorgeous the lake looks when it’s all lit up and the joy it brings the community.  Also, giving back always holds a special place in my heart,” Schmeling said.
