BULLHEAD CITY – An altercation that produced a knife-related injury is under investigation by the Bullhead City Police Department. The 32-year-old Mesa man who used the knife claims he did so in self-defense, according to Police Department Spokeswoman Emily Fromelt.

Police responded at 2:20 p.m. on Tuesday, March 26 to a report of a stabbing in the Safeway parking lot in the 1700 block of Highway 95.

“A male victim reported that two men in a pickup-truck started yelling and threatening him as he was walking into the store,” Fromelt said. “Police believe it may have been a possible road rage confrontation.”

Fromelt identified the pickup truck duo as Gregory Capps, 53, and his son Gregory Capps Jr., 19. She said the younger Capps suffered a cut to his arm and was flown to a Las Vegas hospital following initial treatment by paramedics.

The elder Capps was arrested for threatening and intimidating, assault and disorderly conduct. Charges against his son are pending.
