Residents should not have to clean up tourist trash

Dear Editor,

I was appalled at the trash, that is left behind by all of our visitors, using the river for their entertainment, every weekend.

During the week, it stays clean, but Friday, Saturday and Sunday a total trash can. The trash cans have no purpose.

And I take offense at the City of Bullhead City asking the Bullhead City residents to volunteer their time to do clean up, after these disrespectful idiots leave.

Where is all the money that is being collected by the City for the weekend on the river, cabanas going? Not everything is free!

  1. When I saw the post on Facebook I thought , why should WE be out cleaning up after all the slobs that come and leave tons of trash? With the money this town makes off of these disrespectful people they can hie people to do this . I have seen the trash left out at the lake and on the river and it is disgusting.

  2. I have participated in past clean up activities and I regularly pick up a bag of trash when I kayak the river. Our tourists can certainly contain groups of absolutely disrespectful pigs but others are not. Bottom line…I can’t control what they do, but I can control what I do. I don’t like the fact that I can’t enjoy river time on my weekends. I do, however enjoy watching our tourists paying for our park upgrades. This is a tourist town. I know the stores and restaurants will be packed on the weekends. I’ve learned to just stock up and stay home…that doesn’t mean I like it, but that’s reality.

  3. I agree – I live on the Laughlin side of the river and the casinos rack in millions of dollars yet Casino Drive every morning looks like a S____Hole!
