Rebecca Arlene Boyd

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother Rebecca Arlene Boyd, at the age of 82, transitioned to heaven on September 26, 2024. Rebecca, affectionately known as Becky, was a long-time resident of Meadview, Arizona. For the last 34 years, she built a beautiful life there with her loving and devoted partner, Curt Harvey.

Becky was born in 1942 to Margaret Ponsy Grant and Theodore Roosevelt Fell in Kewanee, Illinois. She was an only child but cherished many extended members of her family tree. She had a deep affection for her grandmother, Ellen Francis Eden of Kentucky, that helped raise her as a child.

Becky was known for her strong work ethic, receiving awards in several industries throughout her life. She excelled in all her endeavors. A few notable accomplishments was having the honor of working with Albert Einstein’s grandson at Litton Industries, receiving Saleswoman of the Year at Northland Dodge in Columbus, Ohio, and most importantly raising her five beautiful children. She was an extraordinary leader with a reputation as a kind and supportive Manager until her retirement from the Meadview Market after many years of service to the community that she loved.

Becky had a tremendous love for country music, blooming cacti, desert sunsets, beekeeping, the grand wash cliffs, researching and recording her family genealogy, and most of all family gatherings. She was connected to hummingbirds, and they would often sit on her signature red flowered shirt while enjoying time outdoors with Curt.  She collected dolls, had an eye for fine crystal dishes, and enjoyed thrifting. Becky was an inspirational woman who triumphed over many hardships and held a fierce and unconditional love for her family. Becky’s ability to love and accept people through the trials and tribulations of their lives was remarkable and will be remembered as her most honored family value. The matriarch of the family left her final wishes explaining that she hoped that all her children will love one another and support each other with the love and values that she held most sacred.

Becky is survived by the love of her life, Curt; her loving and devoted children: Larry, Bob, Dale (Kathy), Kindra (Marc) and Diane. Her adoring grandchildren Melissa (Michael), Chelsie, Dakota (Danielle), Larry James (Jennifer), Stephany (Orlando), Richard (Alysia), and Dillon who together, have gifted her with 19 great grandchildren that now carry on her legacy.  She was a pillar of strength and love and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. “Country Women Never Really Fall”.

A private life celebration will be held in November at her home to honor the life of Becky Boyd. In lieu of flowers or gifts the family welcomes your tribute, photos, and memories to be posted to Becky’s tribute wall at  Rebecca Arlene Boyd Obituary – Visitation & Funeral Information (suttonmemorialfuneralhome.com). Arrangements were cared for by Sutton Memorial Funeral Home, Kingman, Arizona.
