Phase I of the Eastern Street Realignment Project is Complete

KINGMAN – Phase I of the newly aligned Eastern Street and Airway Avenue Intersection Project will be open to the public on Friday, August 30.  Completion of Phase I will eliminate the need for the temporary bypass road at Calumet Avenue. This project was budgeted as part of the City’s FY24 5-Year Capital Improvement Plan, to create a more cohesive traffic flow for that area of town.

Starting Friday, August 30, there will be lane restrictions on Airway Avenue, Eastern Street, and Yavapai Street as crews begin the construction of Phase II. In this next phase of the project, we will see the designation of Diamond Street and Yavapai Street as two-way streets and the construction of a raised median on Airway Avenue, to prevent left-hand turns from Diamond Street. Construction is anticipated to be completed by the end of September.

Tim Walsh, Kingman City Manager, stated, “We appreciate the community’s patience with us as we have worked through this project. We are excited to see the improved traffic flow in this area once the project is complete.”
