Mohave County holds one of final workshops on General Plan

DOLAN SPRINGS – Mohave County Development Services staff on Monday, August 20, held a workshop on the General Plan for Dolan Springs, Meadview and White Hills. The workshop, which attracted about 35 participants, was for the purpose of getting public input on the zoning for eight sub-areas as well as the overall county areas. County sub-areas are the Arizona Strip, White Hills/Dolan Springs/Meadview, East Central, Bullhead City, Lake Havasu City, Golden Valley, Kingman Area, and Southeast which includes Yucca. The county is required by statute to update the plan every 10 years and the last update was in 2015

General plan land use includes a variety of zoning designations: Alternative Energy, Commercial Recreation, General Commercial, Heavy Industrial, High Density Residential, Light Industrial, Light Industrial PUD, Low Density Residential, Medium Density Residential PUD, Medium Density Residential, Neighborhood Commercial, Public Facilities, Public Lands, Public Parks, Rural Development Area, Rural Industrial, Rural Residential, Suburban Development Area, Suburban Estates, Suburban Residential and Urban Development Area.

Definitions of the zoning categories as well as more detailed information can be found at the county website, mohave.gov under Development Services.

The deadline for comments on the proposed general plan is September 15. Questions may be directed to generalplan@mohave.gov or via telephone at 928-757-0903. There is a link on the county’s homepage for residents to provide their comments online.
