Kingman Parks and Recreation closures

KINGMAN – City of Kingman Parks and Recreation Department has closed its doors to the public, following the new guidance from Governor Ducey’s office. Per the Governor, golf courses are to remain open during this time, however, the city is closing park restrooms, playgrounds, basketball courts, tennis courts, and ramada areas. Cerbat Cliffs Golf Course team members are sanitizing equipment, carts, and touch points to slow the spread of COVID-19. Stumpf to take prison deal in I-40 shooting death

KINGMAN – A near year-old Interstate 40 offramp shooting death in Kingman will be resolved in a plea agreement entered Tuesday, Jan. 7 at the Mohave County Courthouse. Bradley Stumpf, 32, pleaded guilty to second degree murder for the February 11, 2019 death of Jason McCafferty, 46. Prosecutor Karolina Czaplinska told Mohave County Superior Court Judge Derek Carlisle that McCafferty had taken Stumpf to Phoenix for a work assignment but that McCafferty decided to return to Kingman because Stumpf’s behavior had become erratic and strange. Local restaurant coming back to life

KINGMAN – Slow-paced repairs have a popular downtown Kingman eatery tracking for reopening this spring. Like other restaurants, Calico’s was struggling through the pandemic when a ceiling and rooftop fire prompted its closure on Aug. 30. New trusses are installed and the building on Beale St. has a brand-new roof. Co-owner Rhonda Chapman said Calico’s could reopen in a couple of months. “I was hoping for April, but now I’m hoping for May,” Chapman said. Executive order to expand licensing opportunities for professionals

Arizona Governor Doug Ducey has issued an Executive Order helping licensed professionals in the state stay licensed and deferring certain requirements for six months.  Under the Executive Order, state agencies and boards will defer requirements to renew licenses that have an expiration date between March 1, 2020 and September 1, 2020 by six months from the expiration date, unless those requirements can be completed online.
