LAKE HAVASU CITY – There was an explosion of arts galore this weekend as two local nonprofits hosted fairs that showed off the various talents of Lake Havasu artists. Veteran nonprofit American Legion Post 81 held a fall arts and crafts fair and Havasu Art Guild showcased gifted artists at their fall expo. Both events took place Saturday, October 12. American Legion’s event happened at the club’s headquarters and the Havasu Art Guild’s fall expo occurred at Mount Olive Church.

Supporting the United States Army, Navy, and Marines, American Legion is one of the most prestigious groups serving veterans for over 100 years. The Havasu Art Guild is a private nonprofit established in Lake Havasu in 1978 for current and aspiring artists, or just people who have a love of art.

The American Legion’s fall craft fair offered many unique items for the season. The free event had local vendors with handmade items for sale such as specialty jams, quilts, artwork, and much more. There was also food and music for community enjoyment. The Havasu Art Guild’s fall expo featured various art selections for sale like fiber arts, photography, jewelry, and paintings.

All purchases made at both fairs went back to the notable missions of each nonprofit.  Aside from American Legion’s ongoing support for veterans, they’ve also been known for their youth programs for children.

As for the Havasu Art Guild, their continuous art fairs benefit scholarship grants to high school seniors in Lake Havasu who are currently enrolled in accredited art classes. Be sure to explore both organizations this season to learn more about their upcoming festive events happening this fall.
