None injured in mobile home fire

No one was injured when fire damaged a mobile home in Bullhead City Friday. Firefighters responded at 9:00 a.m. to the incident in the 2000 block of Whitewater Drive.

Fire department spokeswoman Lori Viles said arriving crews reported a small amount of smoke venting from the residence.

“Firefighters received information that the elderly male who lived at the residence was not at home but, his dog was possibly trapped inside. Engine 761s crew, quickly surveyed the scene, forcing the door open where they found heavy smoke inside of the structure,” Viles said. “Fortunately, this allowed the trapped dog to exit the residence safely.”

Viles said crew members from Engine 761 and Ladder 711 worked together pulling a hose line to a back bedroom, knocking down the active fire and ventilating the area. After checking the residence for any additional fire extensions, crews began the overhaul process.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
