NDOW, NPS offer safe boating media opportunity at Lake Mead National Recreation Area on Wednesday, May 22

BOULDER CITY, Nev. – With the Memorial Day Weekend fast approaching, the Nevada Department of Wildlife and the National Park Service are hosting a media event at Lake Mead National Recreation Area on Wednesday, May 22, to talk about summer safety, boating and water safety. Members of the media are invited to an on-the-water ride-along with NDOW game wardens or NPS Rangers.

This event is held in conjunction with National Safe Boating Week, which runs from May 18-24. The week is part of a national campaign that partners state and federal agencies to promote safe boating during the week leading up to Memorial Day weekend. Rangers and wardens will be on- hand to share expectations and guidance for this summer to ensure recreation safety.

When:      Wednesday, May 22, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. (Attendees do not need to be there for the full event, but are welcome to join anytime during that timeframe).
