MOHAVE COUNTY — Mohave College marked a major milestone in workforce education with the opening of its new cosmetology facility in downtown Kingman and the launch of its Cosmetology Certificate program. The facility, located at 307 E. Beale St., will serve as the home for hands-on instruction designed to prepare students for careers in the beauty industry and Arizona cosmetology licensure.
The cosmetology program offers comprehensive training in hair design, skin care, nail technology and salon practices through a 40-credit curriculum that includes 1,500 clock hours of classroom and supervised salon instruction. Students gain technical skills while also developing professional communication, customer service and salon operations knowledge.
The program was developed in response to community and workforce demand. In September 2025, the Mohave College District Governing Board approved the creation of the cosmetology certificate program, citing the need for trained professionals in the region and opportunities for students seeking a new career path.

Graduates will be prepared to pursue careers in salons, spas and related beauty industry businesses or continue their education in specialized areas of cosmetology. Mohave College Studio 307 services are expected to open to the public in January 2027 following completion of studentsí initial training requirements.
