MOHAVE COUNTY – Mohave College District 1 Board Member and 2026 Board Secretary Nicole Bratley has announced she will resign from the Mohave College Governing Board. Her final scheduled Board meeting will be in October.
Bratley has emphasized workforce education, expanded training in the trades, health care and technology, investment in College facilities and stronger connections between education and regional economic development.
Those priorities included support for Mohave College’s Advanced Manufacturing Training Center in Kingman, which opened during her tenure and was named the 2026 RED Award Higher Education and Workforce Development Project of the Year.
“Serving on the Mohave College Board of Governors has been an honor and a privilege. I am grateful for the opportunity to serve our college and our community and to work alongside such dedicated individuals,” Bratley said. “After careful consideration, I have made the difficult decision to resign from the Board due to the demands of my professional responsibilities. I am proud of the time I have served and will always be grateful for the experience and the opportunity to contribute to the future of Mohave College.”
Bratley also played a leadership role in the College’s 2025-26 presidential search, serving as vice chair and co-chair of the Presidential Search Committee. Her fellow Governing Board members unanimously elected her to serve as Board Secretary for 2026.
Before joining the Governing Board, Bratley served in several community leadership roles, including vice chair of the Mohave County Census Complete Count Committee and treasurer of the Kingman Youth Soccer League.
She was sworn into office in January 2025. Her term was scheduled to continue through Dec. 31, 2028.

Under Arizona law, the District 1 vacancy will be handled through the Mohave County School Superintendent’s Office. Mohave County School Superintendent John Warren is responsible for appointments to vacant Mohave College Governing Board seats.
Individuals interested in being considered for the District 1 seat must reside within District 1, which covers a western section of Kingman, north to Colorado City, and south of Wikieup to the county line. Additional information regarding the appointment process, application requirements and deadlines will be determined by the Mohave County School Superintendent’s Office.
