Mohave Valley man charged with sexual exploitation of a minor

MOHAVE VALLEY — A Mohave Valley man is charged with sex offenses involving a teenager. The Mohave County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) reports the July 1 arrest of Joseph Chipman, 40, for five counts of luring a minor for sexual exploitation and two counts of sexual exploitation of a minor.

“Detectives were notified that messages had been located on a 15-year-old female’s phone that were sexual in nature,” said MCSO public information specialist Anita Mortensen. “Investigation revealed that Chipman had been having sexual conversations with the minor and paying the victim to send nude photographs to him.”

Chipman was taken into custody following execution of a search warrant at his home in the 10000 block of Copper Ln. Mortensen said investigation continues.
