MCSO is investigating a scissor stabbing incident in north Kingman

KINGMAN — The Mohave County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) is investigating an apparent scissor stabbing incident in north Kingman. The arrested suspect is identified as Niki Roberts, 40, Kingman.

Deputies responded at 12:50 p.m. on November 6 to a report of a domestic violence incident in progress in the 4800 block of N. Sierra Road. They reportedly saw Roberts retreat from the porch and enter the home as a reporting party advised that Roberts had attacked the victim.

Deputies observed the victim on the ground in distress and bleeding from what appaeared to be a large cut on the leg,” said MCSO public information specialist Anita Mortensen. “While assisting the victim, Roberts exited the residence holding a pair of scissors in a threatening manner.”

Mortensen said Roberts again retreated inside the residence as deputies drew their weapons and ordered her to drop the scissors. She said a small child exited the residence before Roberts repeatedly opened the door to shout expletives at deputies, refusing to exit and surrender.

SWAT team personnel entered the residence and took Roberts into custody. She was booked into the Adult Detention Facility for aggravated assault and resisting arrest.

The MCSO indicated neither the nature of the dispute, nor the medical condition of the victim.
