LAKE HAVASU CITY – A Lake Havasu City man reportedly fought with officers who escorted him from a courtroom for his unruly behavior last month. The incident occurred August 5 at the Lake Havasu City municipal court on College Drive.
A police report said Judge M. Dunbar repeatedly told Travis Ramsey, 24, to quit talking because he was disrupting hearings for traffic offenses. Police said Ramsey’s behavior became increasingly aggressive and disrespectful as Judge Dunbar ruled against him in his court matters.
Ramsey allegedly challenged officer Dailey who tried to calm him down.
“Ramsey stood straight up, squared his shoulders, puffed his chest and told officer Dailey `what are you going to do little man,'” the police report said. It said Ramsey pointed angrily and yelled at the judge, who ordered his removal from the courtroom.
Ramsey reportedly struggled with officers who had difficulty in getting him out of the courtroom and scuffled as they tried to arrest him. Ramsey was eventually subdued when a taser was deployed.
Ramsey was evaluated and treated at Havasu Regional Medical Center before he was jailed for disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.
