Grand Canyon- Grand Canyon National Park invites the public to the eighth annual “Echoes from the Canyon”. This living history event features daytime and evening programs August 16 – 19.
During the day, visitors are encouraged to stop by a variety of programs highlighting Grand Canyon’s rich human history.

August 19
- Living History Walk with Peggy Verkamp, 10:30 am, Verkamp’s Visitor Center
During the evening, visitors can learn about historic characters from Grand Canyon’s past as they come to life and share their stories about life on the rim. Join us as park rangers and special guests represent more than ten influential characters from Grand Canyon’s past August 16-18 starting at 8 p.m at Shrine of the Ages.
The Grand Canyon is known throughout the world for it’s amazing geologic landscape, but it is also a place with extensive human history. Native Americans have held strong connections with this landscape for thousands of years and continue to do so today. The first non-indigenous explorers were first drawn to the canyon 145 years ago. Some of the historical figures highlighted in this living history event helped shape and establish the Grand Canyon National Park we see here today.
