Library offers free weekly breathwork

LAKE HAVASU CITY – There are many techniques out there that ease stress along with improving the quality of your daily health. But did you know that there are breathing practices out there that can do just that?

John West of Havasu Health Wellness Oneness and Community stopped by to host a breathing workshop that took place on Wednesday, July 31 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Lake Havasu Library. The free class shared tips on how to improve the quality of something that many of us may take for granted – breathing.

Havasu Health Wellness Oneness and Community was founded by Dr. Shiv Talwar, who practices holistic health. The breathing exercises taught by West began at the library in 2014.

The two-hour course includes exercises and a few short videos on how certain breathing methods like humming  and abdominal training, can improve an array of health challenges such as clearing up nasal passages, asthma, and can even lower blood pressure. Breathing improvements can also enhance overall well-being which has been proven with science and supported practices.

These are weekly workshops that occur every Wednesday. Additional questions about the breathing classes can be answered by calling or texting West directly at 928-600-7411.

According to Dr. Talwar, better breathing can provide an inner piece. Aside from the health benefits that breathing exercises can bring, it is also believed that conscious breathing can also lead to a longer life.
