Lake Havasu City operations temporarily altered due to COVID-19 concerns

LAKE HAVASU CITY – In response to COVID-19 concerns, based on discussion with and guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the office of Governor Doug Ducey, Arizona Department of Health Services, and the Mohave County Public Health Department, Lake Havasu City is temporarily altering its operations. 

·       The Aquatic/Community Center is closed and remains closed until further notice.  This includes all fitness classes, lap swim, open swim, pickleball in the gym, and all events and meetings scheduled at the facility. The city is monitoring the latest information to determine when it is safe to re-open.

·       Teen Break is canceled.

·       All city parks remain open. Additional cleaning measures are in place to clean playgrounds, park equipment, and public restrooms.  

·       All fire stations are closed to public tours and non-emergency contact.

·       The Justice and Municipal Courts are limiting lobby access and are serving only calendared hearings, warrants, and order of protection. Correspondence and filings to the courts can be placed in the drop-box or mailed. Payments are made by visiting azcourtpay.com, or by contacting the Municipal Court at 928-453-0748 or Justice Court at 928-453-0705.

·       All events, activities, and meetings scheduled on city properties and in city facilities that exceed the CDC’s recommendation for the number of people in a public gathering, are canceled to a date to be determined. All prepaid temporary business licenses are refunded.

·       Online services are available including records requests, online payments, and more, at the city’s website at www.lhcaz.gov.

The city appreciates the public’s patience and apologizes for any inconvenience. Mayor Cal Sheehy asks all citizens to please follow the trusted sources of information from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Arizona Department of Health Services, and the Mohave County Public Health Department.

“Together, we are following the guidelines of CDC, Arizona Department of Health Services, and the Mohave County Public Health Department to ensure a collaborative approach to communicate factual information to our citizens. It is important that we remain calm in the face of this ever-changing situation.  At this time, I remind all citizens to practice good hygiene. Please wash your hands frequently and cover your nose and mouth when sneezing or coughing. And, if you are feeling under the weather, please stay home,” Sheehy said.
