LAKE HAVASU CITY – Lake Havasu City and Lake Havasu Chiefs Youth Football and Cheer teamed up to make significant enhancements to the Island Ball Field, and just in time for their Opening Day.
To commemorate the momentous occasion, the public is invited to attend a ribbon cutting, hosted by Lake Havasu City through the Lake Havasu Area Chamber of Commerce Ambassador Committee, this Saturday, August 24th, at 9:30 a.m. at the Island Ball Field, located at 1150 McCulloch Boulevard.
Through a meaningful partnership between Lake Havasu City and the Lake Havasu Chiefs Youth Football and Cheer organization, significant investments in time, effort, and resources were made to improve the Island Ball Field site including the installation of two new field goals, the installation of new fencing and gates, the cutting and removal of turf, and painting and remodeling of the concession stand.
“We appreciate the partnership we have with the Lake Havasu Chiefs Youth Football and Cheer organization and the significant investments they made to their homefield on behalf of the entire community,” said Parks and Recreation Director Gabby Vera. “The Parks and Recreation team does a great job in caring for our parks, and any opportunity to partner with the community to enhance recreational opportunities for all our residents and visitors is welcomed.”
The Island Ball Field is located on the Island, and is a multipurpose space benefiting football, soccer, and softball activities, complete with a snack bar, picnic tables, bleachers, and restroom facilities.
