Kingman seeks community input to name newest interchange

KINGMAN – The City of Kingman is inviting residents to take part in a unique opportunity to help name the city’s newest traffic interchange. As the first new interchange built since I-40 was constructed through Kingman, this major infrastructure addition deserves a name that reflects the city’s rich history, culture, and identity.

Currently referred to as the Rancho Santa Fe Interchange, the City Council is seeking public input on whether to keep the existing name or choose a new one. Residents are encouraged to submit name suggestions through an official survey, which will remain open through Thursday, February 27th. After the survey closes, all submissions will be reviewed and presented to the City Council at its meeting on March 18th, where members will narrow the list down to the top five options.  To submit a name for consideration please visit https://polco.us/squdxz

Following the March 18th meeting, the community will have another opportunity to participate in the decision. A second survey will be launched at the end of March, allowing residents to vote for their favorite name from the top five selections.

The cost associated with renaming the interchange from Rancho Santa Fe is estimated at $6,326, which the City hopes to fund through community donations. Residents and businesses interested in contributing to this effort can donate through the City’s website at https://donate.cityofkingman.gov

This is a chance for Kingman residents to leave a lasting mark on the community and help shape the future of the city. Residents are encouraged to submit their name suggestions before the deadline and stay engaged throughout the selection and voting process.
