Kingman man charged with stabbing man behind Walmart

KINGMAN – One Kingman man who allegedly stabbed another outside the local Walmart faces prosecution for attempted murder and aggravated assault charges. Deputy Police Chief Joel Freed said officers responded just before noon on Tuesday, April 22 to a report that a man cut himself with a knife behind the business in the 3300 block of Stockton Hill Road.

“Officers located an unconscious 34-year-old male transient with a stab wound to his thigh,” Freed said. “The victim was taken by ambulance to Kingman Regional Medical Center and ultimately transported to Sunrise Medical Center in Las Vegas in critical condition.”

Freed said Rivers Wilder, 31, Kingman, fled the stabbing after telling the police reporting party that his friend had cut himself. The victim identified Wilder as his assailant when questioned by detectives in Las Vegas.

Wilder was a passenger when arrested during a Wednesday, April 23, traffic stop. He was booked into the Adult Detention Facility.
