Commission meetings also canceled
KINGMAN, Ariz. – The City Council has canceled all April meetings. The Council can hold special meetings, in the event that certain city business needs to be addressed. The Municipal Utilities Commission will hold its meeting scheduled for Thursday, March 26, however City Commission meetings will also be canceled for the month of April. The Council is encouraging the public to use the live-streaming services the city currently offers, like YouTube, to watch all city public meetings. The meetings can also be viewed on local cable access, Channel 4.
With the growing public health concern regarding COVID-19, the city is following recommended guidelines from the Arizona Department of Health Services and the Center for Disease Control (CDC) by limiting public gatherings, and encouraging the public to practice social distancing. Recommendations for the next eight weeks is for organizers to cancel or postpone in-person events that consist of 50 people or more. This recommendation does not apply to the day-to-day operation of organizations such as businesses.
“The health of our team is essential to the operations of the services the city provides,” said Kingman City Manager Ron Foggin. “The city is receiving constant updates, and following recommendations from health officials to ensure we can continue to conduct operations in a safe manner,” he said.
The Utility, Billing and Licensing Department would like to remind residents of their abilities to pay online or by phone, as a way to limit social interaction at this time. Applications to start service can be filled out here:
As a reminder, it could take up to two business days for service to start, when applying online.
In addition, for those customers who drop off check payments at the City Complex drop box, or Airway Avenue drop box – those checks dropped off Thursdays will not be processed until the next working business day.
