KCA to host children’s art exhibition

KINGMAN – Kingman Center for the Arts (KCA) and the KCA Gallery & Gift Shop are excited to announce their upcoming art show “A Little Inspiration.” KCA is seeking art submissions from community children ages 7 to 17.

Art pieces should be around 8×11 in size and can be created on canvas, or paper. Media may include watercolor, acrylic, pencil, oil or digital ink. Submissions should be brought to the KCA Gallery & Gift Shop, 402 E Beale Street, on February 7 between 5 and 7 p.m. During this time, some of the KCA community artists will be on hand to give feedback on the art pieces and these artists will be encouraged to select one of the submitted pieces to use as inspiration to create their own work of art.

Both art pieces will then be mounted together in the gallery show from April 24 to June 21. All art will be available for sale to the public and be subject to the regular 30% commission rate. Art that is not selected by one of the community artists will be displayed at a special event on First Friday, May 2.

All submitted artwork will need a waiver signed by the artist’s parent so they should accompany their child to the submission event. Please include your name and contact information on the back of your piece. Those unable to bring their art on Feb. 7 should reach out to KCA at gallery@kingmanarts.org to schedule another submission time.

All submitted artwork will be priced for sale. If your artwork sells, the KCA Gallery will keep 30% of the sale price and you will be paid out the remaining 70%. Artwork that does not sell will be returned to the artist. Pick up dates and times are June 22 from 3 to 6 p.m. and June 23 from noon to 3 p.m.
