In Memory of Richard Duane Anderson

July 4, 1960 – February 4, 2026

Richard was proud to have served in the U.S. Navy for 30 years and retired from Border Patrol as well.

Richard also was the commander for the VFW Post 2555 when it was known as the R.O. Woody Wood post, in Golden Valley, Ariz. He was always happy to serve his country.

Richard is survived by his mother Marjorie Anderson, his father Andy Anderson, Sr., his brother Andy Anderson, Jr., and his aunts, uncles and more.

Richard was always the happy comedian with his friends and will be missed by Melinda Pedigo, Lisa and Allan Hall, Shannon Bogert, and golf friend of many years, Tom.

We all want to thank Billet Health Hospice, his nurse Stephanie and Lisa and Doc Fitzer for their help and kindness with Richard’s transition to Heaven – Thank you.

  1. While reading my father’s obituary, I was deeply saddened to see that I was not listed among his survivors. I am his daughter, and although our relationship ended when I was very young due to circumstances beyond my control, that connection never stopped existing.
Grief is complicated, especially when relationships were distant or broken, but being omitted felt like losing him twice. I share this not to create conflict, but to acknowledge my place in his life and the quiet grief that comes with it.
I hope he found peace, and I am taking my own path toward healing.

  2. I need the person who wrote this obituary to get a hold of me please, I am Richard’s daughter. Thank you!
