Havasu man enters guilty plea for stabbing

LAKE HAVASU CITY — A Lake Havasu City man charged in a stabbing has entered a mandatory prison plea agreement. Jason Jumper, 46, is convicted of aggravated assault in the plea deal entered Thursday in Kingman.

Attempted murder and disorderly conduct with a weapon counts are dismissed, along with another aggravated assault charge.

Deputy Mohave County attorney Melinda Bonson said Jumper visited the victim’s residence at 862 Chalon Drive on July 30. She said an argument over baseball trading cards ensued.

Bonson told Judge Billy Sipe that the victim ordered Jumper to leave his home, noticing he was armed with a knife. “As the victim was trying to escort the defendant out of his house, the defendant stabbed the victim multiple times,” she said.

Bonson said the victim was released after hospital treatment.

Terms of the deal require the Court to impose a 2-7-year prison term at a December 1 sentencing hearing.
