Havasu Art Guild welcomes the season with Holiday Shoppe

LAKE HAVASU CITY – Put your holiday shopping into full swing at this year’s Havasu Art Guild Holiday Shoppe presented by the Havasu Art Guild. The Holiday Shoppe will be on Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 25 and 26. Hours are Saturday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Get your shopping bags ready you will not want to miss what this year’s holiday shoppe has to offer.

The two-day event will have plenty of uniquely crafted items available for you to explore including paintings, pottery, wood crafts, fiber arts, and jewelry. The shopping days won’t exclude culinary artists because donated baked goods will be available for purchase as well.

Proceeds made from the event will go directly to the Havasu Art Guild scholarship program. Every year the guild awards scholarships and grants to high school and college students who will be enrolled in accredited art classes. The guild accepts scholarship applications between Jan. 1 and March 15 each year.

Award grants are also available for community visual arts projects. Board member of Havasu Art Guild Linda Gromov feels the artists and interests from the public is what she enjoys most about their annual store. “I love getting to know the artists and sharing their talents with the public.”

The Havasu Art hosts numerous events throughout the year such as their Winter Expo, Art at the Lake, and their Fall Expo. Since 1978, the nonprofit organization’s mission has been to get the community excited about arts and crafts and encourage their members to develop their artistic capabilities. Being an artist is not a requirement to join the guild.

The organization wants members to grow in their craft through exhibitions, workshops, seminars, and art shows. You can see more of what members have created by visiting Havasu Art Guild – Member Gallery (google.com).  Their executive board meetings take place every first Tuesday at the Aquatic Center.
