Dear Editor, Wow! You are part of the

Thank you for reading The Standard newspaper online!

Hamersley lays out platform for District 1

Dear Editor,

One of my key initiatives, and one that is critically important to the citizens of Mohave County, is the future of public safety … being able to fully fund it and fully leverage regional resources to support it… to allow our public safety providers to increase personnel, increase response times, increase community presence, increase citizen satisfaction, and better protect our communities.

I have the experience, the foresight, and the energy to put a plan into action. As Chief Information Officer in my past, I supported over 80 public safety agencies across Arizona and Southern California and, with the support of my stellar team, we supported a regional public safety grade P25 radio communications system (voice/data) and a multi-site regional Computer Aided Dispatch, Records Management System and Jail Records Management System (CAD/RMS/JMS) supporting ten public safety agencies. A consortium was formed, and the concept has been a huge success for the region.

I know how to create collaborative relationships and did exactly that with the Sheriff’s Office, Border Patrol, the US Marshals, the Fire Department, the Police Department, and tribal law enforcement agencies. By leveraging infrastructure, I was able to implement a state-of-the-art communications system that allowed all the region’s public safety agencies real-time communication, collaboration, and border protection AND saved the region hundreds of thousands of dollars! Additionally, the Department of Homeland Security acknowledged our use of technology and partnerships as one of the best communication systems in the nation.

I believe in performance-based government but only after making sure the employees, departments, and divisions have the proper tools and resources to effectively service the employees and the community. This is particularly true with public safety.

I am the only candidate who can develop a strategy, implement best practices, improve quality, and more and, as a result, fully fund and leverage regional resources to support and grow Mohave County’s public safety agencies.

As always, thank you. I respect the rights of the citizens of Mohave County to choose the candidate they believe will do the best job for our quality of life here in Kingman and Mohave County. I hope I am that candidate. I will get things done!

Elect me, Jim Hamersley, for Mohave County Board of Supervisors – District 1 and Let’s Shape Mohave County’s Future Together!
