Feral Cat Warriors helps transport rescued California wildfire cat

KINGMAN – Feral Cat Warriors (FCW) is thrilled to announce the upcoming cross-country journey of Taco, a three-year-old orange tabby rescued during the recent Los Angeles wildfires. Thanks to the dedicated efforts of FCW and its partners, Taco will soon travel from Las Vegas, NV, to Philadelphia, PA, to be united with her forever family.
During the devastating wildfires in Los Angeles, shelters became overwhelmed as they worked tirelessly to accommodate displaced animals. Taco was initially surrendered to the Pasadena Humane Society before the wildfires. Amid the crisis, she was transferred to the Best Friends Adoption Center in downtown Los Angeles. With shelter space at a premium, she was then transported to Arizona through a collaborative effort led by FCW.
Now, after finding an adopter in Delaware, Taco is preparing for her final journey home. Thanks to a generous private donor, FCW Operations Leader Charles Black will personally accompany Taco on a Southwest Airlines flight from Las Vegas to Philadelphia, where he will complete the adoption at the South Philadelphia PetSmart and ensure Taco is safely placed with her new family.
“This is exactly why we do what we do,” said Charles Black, Operations Leader of Feral Cat Warriors. “When disasters strike, it’s up to organizations to step up and help. By working together, we can give these animals a second chance and place them in loving, permanent homes. Taco’s journey is a testament to that mission.”
This mission would not be possible without the incredible support of FCW’s partners, including PetSmart Charities, PetSmart, the Humane Society of Mohave County Animal Medical Center, Best Friends Animal Society, and the many generous donors who have contributed to Taco’s transport.
FCW is committed to helping animals in need through local rescue efforts, spay/neuter programs, and national emergency response missions. The organization encourages the community to support its ongoing efforts through donations and volunteer work.
