Farmers Market is back in Bullhead City

BULLHEAD CITY – With the season approaching spring, warmer weather and the pull of heading outdoors, the Farmers Market remains a part of the social fabric once again.
Beginning Saturday, the Bullhead City Farmers Market returns to Bullhead Community Park, 1251 AZ-95, starting at 9 a.m. and running through to 1 p.m.
The next one will take place on April 5 as the Markets take place on the first Saturday of each month between October and April.
“So, we usually have over 80 vendors at our market,” Claire Adams, senior recreation director for Bullhead City, said. “It has grown over the past couple of years, so we have been able to accommodate more vendors and more spaces. We hope to continue to grow the market, but we typically have anywhere from vendors that sell their arts and crafts to homemade jewelry to homemade baked goods. We have a lot of new bakeries and or bread vendors.
“We have a couple farms that come and bring their produce strawberries, fruits, homegrown vegetables. We have jams, local honey and so I mean typically it’s for anyone that likes to craft or bake or make homemade goodies.”
Adams noted that seven food trucks can be accommodated and can be seen on site at respective markets offering a variety of tastes for the palette.
“They come to our markets and they do really well,” Adams said. “This year we’ve started doing live music. We have bounce houses … and we have an activity area just to keep the kids busy.
“What we like about our market is it caters to everybody we have. A couple of dog vendors sell homemade dog treats or goodies. It’s just a day that people can come out, eat some yummy food, enjoy some music and kids can enjoy (the day).”
Cost to rent a space is $35 per 10×10 space for craft vendors and $50 for nonvendors.
Adams said this weekend’s market is full.
“If people back out, we pull from our wait list that we have right now,” she said. “Right now, we have 10 vendors on the wait list.”
To try and become a part of the market, a potential vendor needs to visit bullheadcityfarmersmarket.com and click on “Apply to be a Vendor.” Those interested will be directed to an online application.
