Pat’s journey began in New York, where his family ran a boarding house. During his teen years, the Cook family relocated to Pinto Creek, AZ, where Pat completed his schooling and encountered the love of his life, Bonnie June Harper, in Show Low, AZ. They married and together raised four children: Pat Jr., Bonnie, Billie, and Joanie.

Pat embarked on a diverse career, taking on various roles throughout his life. He moved to Salem, Oregon, working as an engineering aide for the Oregon State Highway Department before returning to Arizona. Later, seeking a cooler climate, Pat and June settled in Truxton, AZ, where they purchased and managed another service station for numerous years. At the age of 67, he pursued his dream of building a house, purchasing property in Valentine, AZ, where he constructed his home. Subsequently, they sold the property to Keepers of the Wild and relocated to Kingman, where they spent the rest of their lives.

He was an individual of many interests, from flying planes to racing horses, racing drag cars, mining, and showcasing his prowess as a skilled pool player.
