DFFM seeks applicants for forestry grant program

PHOENIX — The Arizona Department of Forestry and Fire Management (DFFM) is currently accepting applications for the 2025 Healthy Forest Initiative (HFI) Grant Program. The HFI program is an essential part of DFFM’s strategy for fuels reduction and community wildfire resilience by providing funding directly to local organizations to implement projects in their communities.

Eligible applicants include fire departments and districts, state, local, or tribal governments, or nonprofit organizations. Grant proposals should focus on hazardous fuels reduction work to reduce wildfire risk, safeguard communities, and improve forest health.

A total of $1.5 million in funding is available, with grant awards ranging from $60,000-$500,000 Applications are due January 9, 2026, and must be submitted through the DFFM Grant portal at https://bit.ly/4p6tOdT For questions specific to the grant, contact DFFM’s grants department at Grants@dffm.az.gov.
