Democrats, others protest in Kingman as national policies shift (WATCH)

KINGMAN – Bipartisan discontent over shifts in national priorities is happening as evident in a recent protest in Kingman. Growing concern is being voiced about actions, real and anticipated, at the federal level, that may significantly affect older Americans.

Carol Campbell is the protest organizer and she explains why the two dozen people are showing up at Locomotive Park every Friday from 4 to 6 in the afternoon.

“Basically, there’s a lot going on where people are afraid for their social security, for their “Medicaid, for their Medicare, their loved ones that are veterans, for so many subjects. We are concerned citizens.”

During the time at the protest, there were some jeers but for the most part the majority seemed in agreement with the protesters. Carol, a local Democratic rep, continued.

“We believe that everybody has a right to state what their opinion is regarding the subjects that we have. Independence are welcome, Republicans that are questioning, are welcome. We think everybody should have a say.”
