County vehicle auction starts next Tuesday

MOHAVE COUNTY – The county is holding its vehicle auction from Tuesday, Oct. 10 through Tuesday, Oct. 17. To participate, bidders must be registered through 

www.publicsurplus.com 

Bidders can follow specific auction information at the above link; however, no items can be viewed prior to first auction morning date.

There are different categories on the left-hand side. Vehicle’s will be in Motor Pool or Heavy Equipment and parts with be in Motor Pool Parts or Heavy Equipment Parts.

All potential bidders are required to post a bid deposit. The amount of the deposit will be one dollar ($1.00) for small items and one hundred dollars ($100.00) for larger items, for each auction of interest. This is in order to curtail a recent increase of non-serious and default bidders.

Mohave County reserves the right to withdraw any item(s) from the auction up until the time the auction of the item(s) is awarded.

The payment terms and conditions on the county’s surplus auctions have changed effective January 1, 2014, to reflect revised payment procedures. Successful Bidders must make payment to Public Surplus prior to picking up their items. Do not send payments directly to the county. Public Surplus offers multiple payment methods including: Paypal®, debit card, credit card, and wire transfer. Since January 1, 2014. No cash, checks, or money orders are accepted.

Payment is due within 5 business days after auction close. Also, the pick-up location is noted in each auction description. Any further questions regarding pick-up locations, please contact the designated individual for that auction, or Fleet Services at (928)757-0907.

Pick up time is within 10 business days after the auction close. Vehicles, vehicle parts, and large equipment: Pick-up Hours are 8:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m., Wednesday through Wednesday only (excludes weekend). No appointments are needed.

Payment for the vehicle must be made through Public Surplus and received within 5 days after auction close.  In order to pick up the Bill of Sale and the Vehicle Title, buyer must present a copy of payment receipt and a valid picture ID to Fleet Services located at 3675 E. Andy Devine Ave., Kingman, Arizona.

Please Note: A signed Authorization Letter from buyer is required if someone else is picking up the vehicle. The Authorization Letter must specifically state how the title should be transferred. Include, at minimum, the name and address of purchaser. The person picking up the vehicle must also have the receipt of payment and valid picture ID.

Once buyer has the Bill of Sale and the Vehicle Title, the individual may pick up the vehicle at Motor Pool located at 3675 E. Andy Devine, Kingman, Arizona. No appointment is necessary for vehicle pick up.

For Pick-up of all other auction items, pick-up is by appointment only. Pick-up Hours: 8:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m., Wednesday through Wednesday only (excludes weekend). The winning bidder must pick up all items in person or is responsible for making alternative arrangements for pick up. Appointment is necessary. Mohave County does not ship or crate any items. Staff cannot help load or move items. Buyers must provide all labor and tools needed to the load winning items.
