County election overview

MOHAVE COUNTY – Sheriff Doug Schuster was a big winner in Tuesday’s contested Mohave County primary election races. The re-election seeking incumbent grabbed 79% of the vote to turn back Mike Gannuscio’s challenge in the republican primary.

Unofficial returns show Schuster (23,624) leading Gannuscio (6,222) by 17,402 votes.

Travis Lingenfelter is leading Jim Hamersley by 274 votes in the District 1 supervisor’s republican primary.

District 4 supervisor Jean Bishop (3,626) is cruising past republican challenger Bill Andrews (2,626) with 57% of the vote. The winner will face democrat Jack Ehrhardt in the November general election.
