Cost of Living Index Quarterly Update

BULLHEAD CITY – The second quarter of 2021 Cost-of-Living Index (COLI) Quarterly Data report has been released and Bullhead City continues to be the most affordable city in Arizona. Bullhead City was ranked against five other participating Arizona cities and had an overall composite index of 91.6 percent. This report represents the average prices submitted by the 258 participating urban areas nationwide.

“Bullhead City continues to grow at a rapid pace because of its affordability,” said City Manager Toby Cotter. “Housing is 61% cheaper than Los Angeles, CA and 32% less than Riverside, CA. Also, groceries are 25% less and of course gas is less than $2.70 a gallon.”

A city’s composite index is made up of six components; grocery items, housing, utilities, transportation, health care and miscellaneous goods and services.  The cost-of-living doesn’t measure local price changes from period to period, but rather changes in how local prices compared to prices in other areas from period to period.  To see how the Arizona cities compare visit www.bullheadcity.com and go to the “Data Reports” icon. You can also check out the Cost-of-Living Index Calculator on the City’s website at www.bullheadcity.com/movingto and compare Bullhead City prices to other cities nationwide.

If you have any questions concerning the cost-of-living data, please feel free to contact the City Manager’s office at (928) 763-0122.
