LAKE HAVASU CITY – Who knew Lake Havasu had so many musicians?† This October, you will get the chance to see them at Lake Havasu’s Concerts in the Park.

Brought to you by Lake Havasu City’s Parks and recreations, this year’s show will feature some of Havasu’s favorite musicians and some newcomers too. Veterans of Concerts in the Park Kevin Jaxon and the Midnight Sun will be returning on October 6th.†

Jaxon was originally born in Inglewood, CA but his musical roots can be traced back to his father who played many instruments.† Jaxon’s family resided in New Orleans where Jaxon remembers always being surrounded by music.†

Jaxon is a self taught guitarist and songwriter and has toured with some popular acts such as Johnny Otis† and Rose Royce. The R&B band is one of the most popular of the tri-state area.†

Their success is something that Jaxon says would not be possible without his band mates.† “They are all tops in what they do as musicians and vocalist and they are what make Kevin Jaxon and Midnight Sun one of the top bands in the tri-state area.† I am so blessed and grateful to have them,” Jaxon said.

This year the annual show welcomes Black Cat X who will be performing on October 20th.† Drummer of Black Cat X Paul Lavoie has been performing with lead guitarist of the group Richard Jauss since 1999.†

A fears later, Black Cat X was formed.† The music group will be performing classic rock, blues, and country.

Swamp Donkeys is scheduled to perform on October 27th.† The band will be bringing a little bit of something for everyone with their mixture of reggae, classic rock, blues, and country. †Members of the group all developed a love of music at a very early age.†

Guitarist of the group Mark Espinosa has been playing since he was fourteen.† Later on he studied jazz and classical music at the University of Redlands.

Now retired as a business owner, Espinosa moved to Lake Havasu where he solely focuses on music. Bass guitarist and vocalist Richard Zakoor began playing at the age of nine. †Zakoor and has previously performed in California, Louisville, Phoenix, and now Lake Havasu.†

Steven Yates who is the vocalist and drummer of the group started play drums at age seven. By the time he was thirteen, Yates was playing professionally.† He has previously toured overseas and all over the U.S.†† According to Yates, he enjoys, “The many energies within the group.”†
