-Free Ribbons Available at Main City Complex-
KINGMAN, Ariz. –The City of Kingman is encouraging the community to support the statewide “Light Arizona Blue” (#LightAZBlue) initiative, by giving away free blue ribbons, of varying sizes, to the first140 people who visit the city complex. Beginning Tuesday April 28 at 7:00 a.m., there will be a box of blue ribbons in front of the main city complex entrance, located on Spring Street. City team members ask that people limit one ribbon per household, in order to show their support for this important, statewide initiative.
“This can be a small, visible gesture that unites us in showing support for those who are taking greater risks so that we stay safe,” said Kingman Mayor Jen Miles. “I encourage people who can to shine a blue light, even blue ribbons, to show our support.”
If you take a ribbon, please, email your photos to pio@cityofkingman.gov, and show us how you are “Lighting Arizona Blue!”
Governor Ducey announced the Arizona Light It Blue initiative in recognition of the healthcare workers and first responders supporting Arizonans during this challenging time. The City of Kingman has joined in this initiative to support many front-line workers who are helping us respond to the COVID-19 pandemic. The City has lit up the main city complex with blue lights, and you’ll see blue ribbons on and surround city properties.
The idea is to shine blue lights on buildings and landmarks to show our support for our essential workers. Governor Ducey announced the lighting of the Arizona Capitol Dome blue, and the city wants to amplify the support for our healthcare workers and first responders as much as we can. Thanks, so much for considering your participation.
