Citizens Academy graduates recognized at City Council meeting

KINGMAN – The City of Kingman recognized the graduates of the 2025 Fall Citizens Academy at Tuesday’s City Council meeting. Mayor Ken Watkins and the entire City Council extended their heartfelt congratulations to the participants, celebrating their achievement and dedication to civic engagement.

This year’s graduates include: Sara Alsbury, Daniel Christian, Lee Davidson, Leslie Davidson, Robert Guardiola, Tandy Janson, Ricky Johnson, Clint Jones, Caitlin McDade, Eric Nolan, Kenneth Schooley, Don Sommers, Deanna Sprinkel, Jeffrey Sprinkel, Maggie Stanley, Alexis

Tarr, and Amie Wade.  Since the inception of the Academy in 2022, it has seen 90 graduates complete the program.

The Citizens Academy is a free seven-week program that provides Kingman residents with an in-depth, behind-the-scenes look at how their city operates. Participants engage in interactive presentations, facility tours, and open discussions with department leaders, gaining valuable insight into a variety of municipal functions. These include everything from road construction and park maintenance to public safety, city planning, and the day-to-day operations that keep Kingman running efficiently.

“The Citizens Academy opens the door for residents to see how every part of our city works together,” said Mayor Ken Watkins. “It’s an incredible opportunity to learn, ask questions, and connect with the people dedicated to serving Kingman every day.”

The next Citizens Academy is anticipated to take place in the Spring of 2026. For more information, visit: https://www.cityofkingman.gov/government/citizens-academy
