LAKE HAVASU CITY – Local authorities will now consider whether parents will face prosecution for the death of their child at Lake Havasu. The Mohave County Sheriff’s office reported last summer that a four-month-old child died at Phoenix Children’s hospital where she was treated for “heat related illness.”

The infant subsequently identified as Tanna Wrobleski became unresponsive following a six-hour boating outing with her parents in 120-degree weather last July 5. The baby was transported to Havasu Regional Medical Center before she was flown to Phoenix where she died.

The recently completed Maricopa County Medical Examiner’s autopsy report was sent to the Mohave County Sheriff’s office and forwarded to the County Attorney’s office for review. Its contents are initially confidential.

County attorney Matt Smith and chief deputy James Schoppmann will be part of a team of veteran prosecutors that will work to determine whether any criminal charges involving the parents have merit.
