In answer to Pastor Kent Simmons question in  the August 2, 2024 Standard, “Is the Church going out of business?” My answer is yes and no. Some churches may close, but others will stay open  until the government forces them to close.

Dear Editor,

We live in an age of addiction and dysfunctional personalities. Lives and families are shattered every day by drug addiction, gambling addictions, pornography, alcoholism and more. Some people have anger issues and live daily lashing out at people and loved ones. Many people have serious mental issues and need help and often refuse to get help. All of these issues and many more can be impactful on friendships and relationships.

I saw something the other day that impressed me and caused me to consider my own behavior and, sadly, my failings. I was in the commercial parking lot with Staples, Big 5, and Taco Bell, had just parked my truck, and was headed-in to the office supply store.
