KINGMAN – An Arizona Attorney General’s Office prosecution of an alleged illegal campaign contribution in Kingman’s 2018 mayoral election may not go to trial. Defense Attorney Brad Rideout informed Judge Billy Sipe Tuesday that plea negotiations may bear fruit in the case against realtor Justin Chambers. “We’re working on a non-trial resolution at this point in time. Cox intended to retire at the end of her term but has informed the Board of Supervisors and County Management team that serious health issues prompt her resignation effective Dec. 31, 2021. “It has been an honor and pleasure to represent the citizens of Mohave County for the last 9 years,” Cox said in her resignation notice. LAKE HAVASU CITY – The Lake Havasu City Police Department was awarded a $27,819.00 grant from the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety (GOHS) for conducting increased traffic enforcement operations and to purchase five (5) directional radar units. Fire Chief Jake Rhoades leaving Kingman Fire Department

KINGMAN – The City of Kingman is apparently losing its Fire Chief. The City of Buckeye is hiring Jake Rhoades to join its fire department administration, currently in an interim chief posture. Information, at this point, is not available through Rhoades or City Hall. However, the public information officer for Buckeye confirms a Rhoades hiring scenario is in play.
