Humanist to Deliver Invocation at Tuesday City Council Meeting

KINGMAN – There’s going to be a slight change at Tuesday’s Kingman’s City Council meeting. For the first time in a long time (if not THE first time), a non-religious invocation will be given before the start of the evening’s business. Humanist Luke Douglas will be delivering a secular message from Phoenix via Zoom. Courthouse operations kinks being worked out

KINGMAN – Mohave County has been working out initial operations kinks since staff moved into the new building addition after vacating the historic courthouse in downtown Kingman in early March. They’ve been addressing climate control, plumbing and other issues since occupying the new four-story structure. “When you open a new building, there’s always rats that have to be killed. That’s what they call it,” said County Facilities Manager John Mieding. “We’re past most of those issues. The HVAC controls have been dialed in. Veterans Resource Fair June 25

BULLHEAD CITY – The JAVC and VFW District #8 are collaborating to bring a Veterans Resource Fair to Bullhead City on Friday June 25 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. with a 9:00 a.m. registration time. The Fair will be held at the Suddenlink Community Center gymnasium, 2380 Suddenlink Way. The Bullhead City Transit stops at the Suddenlink Center at 22 minutes after the hour. Transportation requests are to be made through info@javc.org by Tuesday, June 22. They now have a shuttle available for pick-ups.  There are currently no COVID-19 restrictions at the Center but wearing a mask will not be discouraged….

Golden Valley water service expected to be restored by early next week

GOLDEN VALLEY – Good news for many Golden Valley, Arizona residents. Mohave County staff has found a compatible submersible motor, through an exhaustive statewide search, that is available for installation. The contractor will be ready to mobilize on Friday morning and will be working through the weekend.  It’s expected that the installation will be completed and the well should be back online early next week. Approximately 500 homes in Golden Valley have remained without water for several days.. The Golden Valley Improvement District water system’s booster station was shut down on Sunday, May 9 due to the failure of its supply well….
