Human remains located in Dolan Springs

MOHAVE COUNTY – On Thursday, August 26th, at approximately 7:30 am, Mohave County Sheriff’s Office Deputies and Detectives were called to an area north of Dolan Springs for a report of human remains located. Detectives responded to the scene and began an investigation. An autopsy will be performed by the Mohave County Medical Examiner’s Office. The identity and cause of death will be determined by the autopsy. This investigation is ongoing.

Missing person found on Hermit Trail, Grand Canyon National Park

GRAND CANYON  – The National Park Service (NPS) has successfully located missing person, Arturo Hernandez. On Tuesday, August 24 at approximately 2 p.m., search and rescue personnel located Hernandez via helicopter along the Hermit Trail near Breezy Point. At this time, Hernandez is in stable condition and awaiting helicopter evacuation. On Monday, August 23 at approximately 4:30 a.m., the Grand Canyon Regional Communications Center received a report of two overdue hikers on the Hermit Trail within Grand Canyon National Park.
