LAKE HAVASU CITY – Three Lake Havasu City firefighters reportedly sustained injuries while battling a residential structure fire over the weekend. Crews responded at about 3:10 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 24 to the incident in the 300 block of Silverado Dr. “The occupants were alerted by the smoke detectors, discovered smoke coming from the closet area of the master bedrooms and exited the structure,” a news release said. “The first arriving fire company reported a working fire with smoke coming from multiple locations of the residence as well as the attic vents.” Personnel reportedly gained control of the fire within…
KINGMAN – A local couple is working to get Kingman kids more interested and involved in the arts. Raul Bibiano and Laurie Middleton hope to open and operate the ARCH Project Youth, a club encouraging participation in the creative process. “The arts include music. They include dance, voice- and for the younger kids- arts and crafts,” Bibiano said. “And also we’re going to include things like cooking and baking.” Bibiano and Middleton, who perform in the 4-piece El Jefe band, said they’ve accepted a donated lot and are raising money to place a metal building on site for the ARCH…

KINGMAN – Kingman police report the arrest of a local teenager who allegedly fled the scene after causing a traffic accident that injured others. Deputy Police Chief Joel Freed said officers responded to the incident at about 1:40 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 16 in the 3200 block of Airway Ave. “Officers found that an all-terrain vehicle driven by a 32-year-old female and occupied by an 8-year-old male, a 4-year-old female and a 7-year-old female had been struck by a four-door sedan causing the all-terrain vehicle to roll approximately twice,” Freed said. “The driver and the two female passengers were ejected….
LAKE HAVASU CITY – The Lake Havasu Lecture Series at ASU is back this month. Dr. Doyle Wilson will be presenting Colorado River Basin Water Supply Connection. The ASU Community Outreach program has created the lecture series as a way to educate the community through informational lectures that are free to the public. Dr. Wilson is locally known for bringing awareness to Lake Havasu about Colorado River concerns. Dr. Wilson has a masters degree from ASU and a PhD from Portland State University in environmental science and geology.
