SELIGMAN – For the first time in almost 30 years, Arizona Game and Fish Department (AZGFD) biologists performed a re-introduction of ten endangered black-footed ferrets to the once-flourishing Aubrey Valley/Double O Ranch area, attempting to re-populate the only active recovery spot in Arizona.
The ferret kits were captively bred at one of six sites across the country, including the Phoenix Zoo. The kits were then taken to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service’s National Black-Footed Ferret Conservation Center in northern Colorado, where they learned to hunt and live in the wild.
KINGMAN – A young Kingman man charged in a year-old traffic fatality has begun serving a short jail sentence.
MOHAVE VALLEY – A Mohave Valley man has been jailed for 10 counts each of sexual exploitation of a minor and voyeurism.
LAKE HAVASU CITY – Lake Havasu City, in collaboration with the USS Arizona Relic Committee, led by Marine Corps League Detachment #757, invites the public to a heartfelt Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day ceremony scheduled this Saturday, December 7, at 10 a.m. located at London Bridge Beach Park, near the flagpoles. This event commemorates the 83rd Anniversary of Pearl Harbor Day. It includes a short ceremony and viewing of the USS Arizona relic from 10 a.m. to noon.
MOHAVE COUNTY – Defendants from Fort Mohave and Lake Havasu City appeared in Mohave County Superior Court this week as their child pornography cases are being resolved in similar, formulaic fashion.
