Kingman Food Bank coordinates Stamp Out Hunger drive with post office

KINGMAN — The U.S. Postal Service mail carrier has organized a food drive that will benefit the Kingman Area Food Bank. The event is scheduled for Saturday, May 10, and will be going on nationwide.

Every year, on the second Saturday of May, the National Association of Letter Carriers holds a Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive to collect food for local food banks across the country. The event, which has been happening every year since 1993, is the largest single-day food drive in the country.

The mail carrier will leave a donation bag in the mailbox of each home ahead of the food drive. Anyone that wishes to participate may place food in the bag and place it next to their mailbox on Saturday, May 10. The mail carrier will then take the food to the Kingman Area Food Bank.
