The Arizona Department of Transportation advises motorists traveling on northbound US 93 near Wikieup to plan for the following overnight lane restrictions for the removal and replacement of guardrail: 

* Northbound US 93 will be intermittently narrowed to one lane along a 2-mile segment between mileposts 107 and 109) from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 15, through Monday, Dec. 23.

Man convicted for slashing truck driver’s neck

LAKE HAVASU CITY – A Georgia man has been convicted of slashing another commercial truck driver’s neck with a pocket knife during an argument at the Pilot Travel Center truck stop outside Lake Havasu City. A Mohave County Superior Court jury returned its verdict early Thursday after four hours of deliberation that began Wednesday afternoon.

The panel found Quan Arline, 56, guilty of attempted second degree murder for the Feb. 4 incident. The jury rejected the self-defense claim asserted by Legal Defender Ron Gilleo.

Man convicted of 12-year prison sentence after stabbing fatality

BULLHEAD CITY – A Bullhead City man who pleaded guilty in a stabbing fatality was sentenced to prison Thursday, as was mandated in a plea agreement entered in Oct. Antonio Rosales-Torres, 44, is convicted of manslaughter in the May 6, 2023 death of Jose Vizcarra, 23, also of Bullhead City.

   Supporters including his wife and children characterized the defendant as a dedicated family man and a loyal and giving friend. And they urged Judge Doug Camacho to exercise leniency in contemplating the 7-12 year range of punishment required under terms of the plea deal.

New homeless service will be mobile

KINGMAN – A Kingman community outreach program administered by the Northern Lights Ministry is working to serve the homeless in innovative fashion. The Acts of Kindness endeavor is building a flatbed trailer that will deliver essential service to those in need.

“We’re building a mobile shower trailer. This mobile shower trailer’s going to have four shower stalls. It’s going to have one laundry unit. It will be mobile and it will go out to different locations where the homeless are,” said congregation member Robbie Stiles.
